According to reports made to police, Plough had stepped on the first rung of the boxcar ladder and in attempting to swing onto the second, slipped and fell beneath the wheels of the train, severing his body in three places. The mangled body was taken to a mortuary in Wabash to be prepared for burial. Why Plough attempted to board the freight has not been determined as the train does not stop in Wabash and travels through the town at about 40 miles an hour officials said. Plough is survived by his wife. He lived at 482 West Market Street, Wabash.
