Description	:	MRS. LOU VERDIE RIVIERE, 97, of Chipley, Florida, formerly of Alachua, Florida, died Friday, July 24, 2009, in the Chipley Nursing and Rehab Center, following a long illness. Mrs. Riviere was a native of Lafayette County, Florida, born November 11, 1911, to the late Marion and Mary McColister Bush and had resided in Alachua for most of her life. Mrs. Riviere had worked for many years for Alachua Elementary School and was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Alachua, where she was a member of the Forever Young Club, the Jewel Traxler Circle, and the W.M.U. She... Read More	MRS. LOU VERDIE RIVIERE, 97, of Chipley, Florida, formerly of Alachua, Florida, died Friday, July 24, 2009, in the Chipley Nursing and Rehab Center, following a long illness. Mrs. Riviere was a native of Lafayette County, Florida, born November 11, 1911, to the late Marion and Mary McColister Bush and had resided in Alachua for most of her life. Mrs. Riviere had worked for many years for Alachua Elementary School and was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Alachua, where she was a member of the Forever Young Club, the Jewel Traxler Circle, and the W.M.U. She was preceded in death by her Husband, Oscar C. Riviere. Survivors include two sons: William Oscar "Bill" (Linda) Riviere, of Alachua, and Marion C. "Bud" (Judy) Riviere, of Bonifay, FL; one sister, Montie Jackson, of Old Town, FL; four grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren also survive. Funeral services will be conducted Sunday, July 26, 2009, at 2:00 PM, in the First United Methodist Church of Alachua, with Rev. James Richardson, pastor of the Spring Hill United Methodist Church, officiating. Interment will follow in Newnansville Cemetery. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service in the church beginning at 1:00 PM. WILLIAMS-THOMAS FUNERAL HOME WESTAREA, 823 NW 143rd St., is in charge of all arrangements.
