Description	:	GERMANTON - Mrs. Lou Zetta Vestal Brown, 80, affectionately known by many as "Momma Lou" died early Wednesday morning, Oct. 16, 2002, at Universal Health Care of King following an extended period of declining health. A native of Yadkin County, she was born Sept. 11, 1922, to the late Tandy Barnett and Mary Elizabeth Kittrell Vestal. A member of Germanton Baptist Church, she was a Sunday school teacher and very active in women's mission work. Read More	GERMANTON - Mrs. Lou Zetta Vestal Brown, 80, affectionately known by many as "Momma Lou" died early Wednesday morning, Oct. 16, 2002, at Universal Health Care of King following an extended period of declining health. A native of Yadkin County, she was born Sept. 11, 1922, to the late Tandy Barnett and Mary Elizabeth Kittrell Vestal. A member of Germanton Baptist Church, she was a Sunday school teacher and very active in women's mission work. She was an avid gardener and for 25 years was owner/operator of Reynolda Road Play School in Winston-Salem. "Momma Lou" had devoted her life to her family, church and the children that she cared for. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Gilmer C. Brown in 1995; a granddaughter, Carrie Elizabeth Powell in 1988; two sisters, Nina Eads and Molly Nance; and a brother, Taft Vestal. Surviving are a daughter and son-in-law, Carol and Richard Powell of Germanton; two grandsons, Vince C. Powell and wife Staci of Burlington and Brandon Powell of Charlotte; five sisters, Lillian Jester of Boonville, Viola Martin and Martha Newsome, both of Winston-Salem, Katie Naples of Clemmons and Shirley Holsclaw of Jonesville; and two brothers, Troy Vestal of Winston-Salem and Tula Vestal of Boonville. Also surviving is a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives. A funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday, Oct. 18, 2002, at the Germanton Baptist Church, officiated by Pastor Dennis Collins. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 this evening at Hayworth-Miller Funeral Home in Rural Hall. Memorials may be made to the Carrie E. Powell Memorial Scholarship Fund, c/o Germanton Baptist Church, P.O. Box 266, Germanton, NC 27019. The family would like to express their appreciation and sincere thanks to all of the staff at Universal Health Care of King, for their kindness and loving care.
