Louella Amanda Thorson, daughter of Ole and Betsy (Johnson) Thorson was born on January 5, 1903 in Hesper township, Winneshiek county, and passed away at her farm home near Castalia on April 27, 1959 following a 2 month illness. She was baptized and confirmed in the Hesper Lutheran Church. She attended Winneshiek county rural schools, Decorah high school and Waldorf college. She taught in rural schools in Winneshiek county and was employed by the telephone office in Decorah. On August 19, 1928, she was united in marriage to Wilbur Buddenberg at the Little Brown Church in Nashua. They established a home in Clermont where Mrs. Buddenberg worked for the telephone company. In 1930 they moved to a farm north of Castalia where she resided until her death. Mrs. Buddenberg was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church, where she taught Sunday School for the past 17 years. She was a member and served at various times as an officer of the Ladies Aid. She is survived by her husband, Wilbur; one son, Davis of Castalia; 2 daughters, Janet, Mrs. Karl Asmus of Tripoli; and Bonita, Mrs. Marvin Bryce of Iowa City; and 3 grandchildren, Deborah and Natalie Buddenberg and Cynthia Asmus, Seven brothers and one sister also survive: Peter of Spring Valley; Edgar and Levi of Decorah; Roy of California; Ben and Elmer of Minneapolis; Clarence of Battle Creek, Michigan; and Lettie, Mrs. E. H. Ellickson, of Decorah. Those attending the funeral services for Mrs. Wilbur Buddenberg from a distance were: Mr. and Mrs. Karl Asmus of Tripoli; Mr. and Mrs. Marvin Bryce of Iowa City; Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Thorson of Battle Creek, Michigan; Mr. and Mrs. B. Thorson, Mrs. and Mrs. Glen Krohl and Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Thorson of Minneapolis; Mr. and Mrs. Earl Stennes of Mabel, Minnesota; Mr. and Mrs. Peter Thorson and Mr. and Mrs. Olaf Ladsten of Spring Valley, Minnesota; Mr. and Mrs. Vernon Ellickson, Mr. and Mrs. E. H. Ellickson, Mr. and Mrs. Edgar Thorson, and Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Thorson of Decorah; Eleanor Thorson of Rockford, Illinois; Mrs. Dale Reeves of LaPuente, California; Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Henkes, Mr. and Mrs. Albert Henkes and Mrs. Roger Henkes of Monona; Rev.
