Description	:	California Pioneer and Jewish Leader. When he died in 1904 a major tribute was written for him in the Jewish News of Northern California. He was described as "aged and full of days" in his 78th year. He came to America at the age of 17, spent a short time in Philadelphia, and later joined the Argonauts venturing westward to California. He was a merchant and prospered in the Capitol city of Sacramento for many years. The newspaper article described him as a modest and unassuming man with a good education and sense of humor...
