Burial was in the Nevada cemetery. Military services were conducted at the grave by the American Legion Post 48 and Story County Voiture 285 Forty and Eight. Firing Squad A. Windman Bugler Mr. Cummings (Echo) Fred Hill Obituary Louis Elmer Hill was born in Nevada, Iowa, September 16, 1889, son of the late Henry and Carrie Hill. He died March 26, 1953, at his home 775 10th street, Nevada. He was graduated from the Nevada High school. He was one of the substantial citizens of the community and very much interested in the political life of his community and his nation, and kept himself well informed on the political trends of the day. During World War I he served the United States army. He was a member of the Post 48 American Legion, Nevada and also a member of the Forty and Eight. He was commander of the local Legion post in 1923. He was a member of Memorial Lutheran church. By occupation Mr. Hill was a painter and contractor and int latter years he took up farming. He is survived by his wife Nettie Eliza Hill and one sister, Anna, Mrs. R. F. Dirksen, of Pampa, Texas, and by a host of friends. His sudden passing was a distinct shock to his family and to his many friends in the community in which he lived his entire life.
