He lived for a number of years at Birmingham where he attended school and united with the Methodist church and Sunday School. On May 23, 1936, he was united in marriage with Fern Reed. For the past four years he has lived at Pittsburg, Iowa, where he and his wife have operated the Pittsburg store. He served for five years in the Medical Department of the 133rd Infantry of the Iowa National Guard at Fairfield, receiving his honorable discharge on April 20, 1932. Louis had a friendly disposition and was generous almost to a fault. His friends were numbered by his acquaintances and he was loved and respected by all who knew him. Memorial services, conducted by Rev. C. H. Orf, were held from the Pittsburg Methodist church Sunday, afternoon, Feb. 1, 1942. Mr. and Mrs. Chester Barker furnished the special music with Mrs. James A. Craig at the piano. Besides his wife he is survived by one daughter, Joan, and his father, and mother, Mr. and Mrs. Sam Robbins of Martinsburg, Iowa; two brothers, Harry of Burlington, Iowa, and Norris of Grandview, Iowa. These together with a number of other relatives and a host of friends mourn his departure.
