Description	:	GALES, Louis (Age 93) - passed away on November 18, 2005. Born in Frank, Alberta, Canada on June 7, 1912. He was preceded in death by Ruby, his wife for 63 years. He was also preceded in death by his father, John Gales; his mother, Helene Gontard (both of whom were immigrants from France through Canada); his older brother, Adolph Gales; and two sisters, Sue Babin and Huberte Manfred. Louis lived for most of his life with his wife, Ruby, in Wallace, Idaho, where he owned the Chevrolet dealership until moving to Spokane in 1961, and thereafter they lived in Spokane, Sequim and Edmonds, Washington.... Louis is survived by his brothers, Henry Gales and Maurice Gales; and by his sister, Muriel Dollfe. He is also survived by his children: Stacy of San Antonio, Texas, Mariann (Grasela) of San Diego, California, Michael of Edmonds Wash- ington, Martin of Spokane, David of Edmonds, Washington, and Brian of Spokane; ten grandchildren: Denise, Aaron, Cynthia, John, Christina, Joshua, Ashley, Timothy, Candace and Jesse; and two great-grandchildren: Brandon and Carolyn. Louis was always a terrific provider, and many people over the years benefited from his giving spirit and generosity. He had a sly sense of humor and enjoyed making fun of social conventions and prodding others outside their accustomed comfort levels. He was a hard worker, inventive salesman, and shrewd but decent businessman. He knew how to buy low and sell high. He was a devoted Catholic, and served as an usher at church and was a member of the Knights of Columbus. He was a powerful and uniting influence for his family all the days of his life. He showed remarkable strength and resilience in overcoming a very serious stroke in 1995. He was a fighter to the end of his days, yet in his final years learned to become exceptionally gentle with others. He was unafraid of death, and now is with his wife, Ruby; his parents, brother and sisters who preceded him, and with the Sisters of Providence's "Brenner Sisters" who watched and prayed over his family for all of their lives. Funeral Mass will be conducted on November 23rd, 2005, at 11:00 A.M. at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Sequim, Washington. Interment will follow at Dungeness Cemetery, Sequim, Washington. Arrangements entrusted to SEQUIM VALLEY CHAPEL, SEQUIM, WASHINGTON.
