He was born October 26, 1945 to Louie and Kizzie Kinman in Washington, D.C. He grew up in Gas City (Iola), Kansas, where he graduated from high school and attended community college. He continued his education but left just short of receiving his BA. Louie also attended school in Estes Park, Colorado where his father's "Louie Kinman's Big Band and Orchestra" had a long-standing job at the Stanley Hotel. Louie spent over 40 years in the electrical contracting business with the majority of his time at Capital Electric of Leavenworth KS/Kansas City. He began in accounting and worked his way up to a Vice Presidential position. He was proud of his time there and enjoyed what he did. Louie loved playing golf in high school where he received many medals and continued as a golfer throughout his life. He followed in his father's footsteps as a musician and band leader where he sang and played the bass guitar. His band "The Exciters" was very popular and they even traveled and played behind Glen Campbell and Roy Clark in the 1960's. He played long term in the mid 1970's as founder and member of the band "Cloud" where they played at Poor Freddies in the River Quay, Kansas City Missouri. After that time, he continued playing music with various groups for weddings and private parties in the Kansas City area. He also loved watching his grandkids play sports, cheering on the KU Jayhawks and the Kansas City Chiefs where he frequently yelled at the TV for bad calls. His Miniature Schnauzer "Lucy" was his side kick and they were rarely apart. Spending time with his family was one of his favorite past times, especially time with his grandkids. He is dearly loved and we will all miss him. Louie made many friends in the business, golf and music communities. Travel with friends was one of his favorite past times. He never met a stranger. He was outgoing, friendly, funny and well known as a teaser. Everyone who knew him, loved him to include his most recent care givers. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister Judy White and brother in law Boyd White. He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Christy Kinman of Leawood, Kansas, his children, Kerry Christifano and husband Louis of Leawood, Kansas; Tina Fasone of Overland Park, Kansas; his four grandchildren Brooklyn Bohannon, Carly Bohannon, Louis Christifano Jr, Samuel Christifano; Niece Lori VanFleet and family of Basehor, Kansas and Nephew Boyd White and family of Little Elm, Texas; Aunt Lavon Kinman Johnson of Ozark, Missouri. Visitation will be from 1-2pm Saturday August 28th, 2021 at the Johnson County Funeral Chapel, 11200 Metcalf Ave, Overland Park, KS. Entombment will follow in the Faith Indoor Mausoleum. Memorial contributions are suggested to American Heart Association, American Diabetes Association or the Great Plains SPCA.
