Services will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in St. Paul. The Rev. James Murphy will officiate. Burial will be in the Elmwood Cemetery in St. Paul (Other funeral arrangements omitted here) Mr. Kosmicki was born Sept. 15, 1914, near Ashton, the son of Jacob and Cecelia (Prenczyk) Kosmicki. He was educated at District 32 School and grew up on the family farm southeast of Ashton. He married Evelyn A. Lubash on Jan. 31, 1949, at Loup City. The couple farmed on the Kosmicki family farm until 1977 when they moved into St. Paul. He then held various jobs with his last employment being for the city of St. Paul, where he worked as a caretaker for city parks, the cemetery and baseball fields. He enjoyed gardening and taking care of his yard. He was a member of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church and a former parish council member. He was a 46 year member of the Knights of Columbus Council 1915 of St. Paul, of which he was a former Grand Knight and pro-life chairman for many years. He was a former District 32 School Board member, a former trustee of St. Francis Catholic Church of Ashton, a recipient of the Howard County Soil Conservation award in 1966 and was the January 1993 Knights of Columbus Family of the Month. He is survived by his wife, Evelyn; one son, David Kosmicki of Chapman; two daughters, Patti Rozmiarek of Grand Island and Cindy (Mrs. Mike) Costello of Lincoln; 10 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and three sisters, Anna (Mrs. Sylvester) Wadas of Grand Island, Gertrude (Mrs. Floyd) Spotanski of Loup City and Victoria (Mrs. Joseph) Radke of St. Paul. He was preceded in death by a son, Don; seven brothers, Stanley Sr., Philip, Karl, Bernard, Victor, Steve and Benjamin; and three sisters, Barbara Goc, Elenor Stefanowicz and Bridget Tomasiewicz obit courtesy of diaNEB (#47466150)
