Read More	Louis “Stub” Becker Jr., 77, of Elgin, Iowa died Saturday, January 13, 2018 at Gundersen Palmer Lutheran Hospital, West Union, Iowa. Louis Jr. was born on May 17, 1940 to Louis F. and Estella (Peters) Becker in Elgin, Iowa. He graduated from Valley High in 1958. Stub was united in marriage with Sharon Kay Schultz on November 5, 1961 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Postville, Iowa and were lifelong members of the United Methodist Church in Elgin, Iowa. The couple had three sons, David, Gary and Dan. Stub’s first job was at Bob Falb Implement in Elgin, Iowa and took over the family farm in 1961, which he farmed the rest of his life. He hauled corn for the Elgin Canning Factory for several years and also drove school bus for Valley for a few years. Stub was a past member of the Valley Co-Op Board and loved going to the Co-Op for coffee with the guys each morning. Stub was a seasoned mechanic who loved spending time in the shed working on his machinery. He enjoyed visits with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, whom he loved riding with in his gator, tractors and combine. Stub is survived by his wife, Sharon Becker of Elgin, Iowa; sons, Dave Becker of Elgin, Iowa, Gary (Sandy) Becker of New Hartford, Iowa and Dan (Tammie Crandall) Becker of Elgin, Iowa; eleven grandchildren, Nate (Ashley) Becker, Niki (Kevin) Oakland, Tyler (Tessa) Becker, Tessa Becker, Drew Becker, Luke Becker, Brooke Becker, Blaine Becker, Elizabeth Becker, Brandon (Kirby Bouillon) Becker and Brittney (Aaron Taylor) Becker; eight great-grandchildren, Kinsley Becker, Kylie, Lexi, Jonathan and Aubrey Oakland, Gannon Becker, Daxton Becker and Adrian Becker; siblings, Alice Schroeder of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Mary Lou Downey of Reinbeck, Iowa, Judy (Dave) Larson of Ossian, Iowa; sister-in-law, Mae Becker of Clermont, Iowa. Stub was preceded in death by his parents, Louis and Estella Becker; brother, Charles “Bud” Becker; daughter-in-law, Jackie Becker; and niece, Deanna Spear. Visitation will be held from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Wednesday, January 17, 2018 at St. Paul’s United Methodist Church, Elgin, Iowa. There will also be a one hour visitation before services at the church on Thursday. Funeral Services will be at 10:30 am on Thursday, January 18, 2018 at St. Paul’s United Methodist Church in Elgin, Iowa with Rev. Hyeunmee Kang as the Officiant. Burial will follow at Elgin Cemetery, Elgin, Iowa. Leonard-Grau Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Elgin, Iowa is helping the family with arrangements.
