Read More	"Willows Journal" (Willows, California), Monday, 20 April 1942 Mrs. Hulen To Be Buried Here Mrs. Louisa Masterson Hulen, 76, widow of John T. Hulen of Orland, a resident of Chico for the last seven years, died at 2:10 a.m., Sunday morning at her home in Chico after several months' illness. She was born May 5, 1865, in that part of Glenn county, which was then Colusa county, west of Orland, on the Masterson ranch. The sixth child of James and Eliza Masterson, California pioneers of the early 50's, she received her education at the Notre Dame Convent in Marysville and at the old Mission Delores in San Francisco. She was a charter member and early member of the Orland Improvement club and a member of the Catholic Relief Society and Orland and in Chico. On October 22, 1884 at Red Bluff she became the bride of Jeremiah Shellooe of Willows. To this union was born one son, Daniel G. Shellooe, who now lives in San Francisco. Four years later her husband died. Is Married Here. February 24, 1897, she married John T. Hulen at Willows. Four children were born to them at their ranch home west of Orland: John W. Hulen of Berkeley, James B. Hulen of Oakland, Golda Hulen and Mrs. Ila Hulen McCampbell of Chico. Also surviving are three grandsons: James and Gerald Hulen of Oakland and Thomas McCampbell of Chico, and one granddaughter, Sally Ann Hulen of Berkeley; two brothers, James Masterson of Willows, and John Masterson of Orland; and several nieces and nephews including Mrs. Thomas Milsap, a niece, of Orland; Kendrick Masterson and Frank Masterson, nephews of Orland; Mrs. Ernest Eibe and Miss Louise Masterson, nieces, of Willows; Eddie Masterson and W. E. Masterson, nephews, of Willows. Funeral Tomorrow. Funeral services will be held Tuesday morning at 9:30 at the St. John the Baptist Catholic church in Chico. Interment will be in the family plot of the Catholic cemetery in Willows. The recitation of the Rosary will be held tonight at 8 o'clock at the Nugent Chapel in Chico. - Transcribed by M.
