Lulu was born March 2, 1867 in Horry County and died Nov. 7, 1945. On Aug. 22, 1886 she married Captain James T. Todd., their marriage being performed by Rev. Edwin C. Jones. Captain Todd was born Nov. 6, 1836 and died Aug. 19, 1913. He was a blockade runner during the Civil War and gave the land for the building of Antioch Methodist Church. Both are buried at Antioch. Todd, departed this life on August 19, 1913, at his residence in upper Bucks Township, after a long and useful life. He died on the farm, where he had created an establishment, business, post office and home for himself and family. He had been a successful farmer, a kind neighbor to those about him and a faithful friend. He built and ran a store and Post Office. He was the Post Master for Bucks Township. He gave the land and built the first three churches and a school in the area. Captain Todd was a Methodist preacher and later a Baptist preacher. He was a Mason. He was married twice. Children surviving from his second marriage are H. Berry Todd, Miss Maude Todd, and Mrs. Frostie B. Hardee. His funeral services were conducted by Rev. I. J. Green. [Taken from records dated September 4, 1913] James taught Lulu to read and write, to read music and to play the piano. She loved to play the piano. Lulu liked cheese, so when her granddaughter Leila came to visit Leila's husband Robert L. Cooper would take a wooden case of cheese.
