Louisa Jane Ross, 83, died at the home of her son, J.H. Ross, 510 Fillmore avenue southwest, at 6:30 o'clock Tuesday evening following an illness. She had resided in Mason City for the past 16 years. Mrs. Ross was born near Marshalltown, Feb. 12, 1853. She was married to George S. Ross, March 18, 1874 at Webster City. Surviving Mrs. Ross are two sons, J.H. Ross, Mason City and H.E. Ross, Grand Rapids, Mich. and one brother, J.W. Payne, Yates Center, Kans., and nine grandchildren, Myrtle, Athea and Howell Ross, Mason City, Roland Ross, Grand Rapids, Mich., and Donald Ross and Roselle Mueller, San Antonio, Tex., Iona Meier, Milwaukee, Wis., Elwood Ross, Algona, and D. Ross, Des Moines, and five great grandchildren. Mrs. Ross was preceded in death by her husband and six children. Funeral services will be held Thursday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock at the McAuley funeral home, with the Rev. William Galbreth, pastor of the Olivet M.E. church, in charge of services. Burial will be at Stratford, Iowa, Friday. The body was taken to the McAuley funeral home. Stratford Courier October 29, 1936 MRS. G.S. ROSS DIED IN MASON CITY, TO BE INTERRED HERE Word has been received here that Mrs. G.S. Ross had died in her home in Mason City. Funeral services are to be held there Friday after which the remains will be brought to Oakwood cemetery for interment where a short service will be held. Mrs. Ross was a former resident of Stratford, the family living here for many years before their removal to Mason City where Mr. Ross died a few years ago.
