Description	:	Louisa Dekker, of Blacksburg, died at 11 a.m. on Thursday, May 3, 2007 at Lewis-Gale Coronary Care Unit after a brief illness. She was 81 years of age. Louisa was predeceased by her daughter, Louisa Kent Gautier on February 27, 2007. She is survived by her husband, Henry J. Dekker; her daughter, Alice Hoge Gillet Dekker Richardson, of Walkersville, Md., and her son, Peyton Gillet Dekker, of Plano, Texas. Louisa was predeceased by her daughter, Louisa Kent Gautier on February 27, 2007. She is survived by her husband, Henry J. Dekker; her daughter, Alice Hoge Gillet Dekker Richardson, of Walkersville, Md., and her son, Peyton Gillet Dekker, of Plano, Texas. Louisa is also survived by five grandchildren, Eric and Alex Richardson, of Walkersville, Md., and Ashley, Henry and Peyton Dekker, Jr., of Plano Texas. Louisa was the daughter of the late Alice Hoge and her husband, Colonel Norman D. Gillet. Following the death of her mother in 1929, Louisa, made her home with her aunt, the late LizOtey Hoge and her husband, Dr. Walter S. Newman, of Richmond and Blacksburg, Va. During their married life, Louisa and Henry resided in Blacksburg, Greensboro, N.C. and Bronxville, NY (30 years), returning to Blacksburg in 1980 for retirement. Throughout her life, Louisa served as a dedicated volunteer in many capacities at Christ Church Bronxville and later at Christ Church Blacksburg. Louisa was an active and supportive member of the Colonial Dames as well as the Captain Christopher Newport Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution. Louisa assisted her husband Henry while he served as a member, Vice-Rector and then Rector of the Virginia Tech Board of Visitors. She was also very supportive and active in his work with the Virginia Tech Corps of Cadets Rehabilitation Program and since 1980, with the Virginia Tech German Club and Foundation. At the death of her aunt, Marian Barrett Hoge, Louisa was selected to be the Club Mother of the German Club. Memorial services will be held at the Christ Church Episcopal of Blacksburg at 2 p.m. on Monday May 7, 2007. The family will receive guests after the service in the Great Hall of Christ Church. Burial service will be private. In lieu of flowers, it is respectfully requested that donations be considered to Christ Church Blacksburg, P.O. Box 164, Blacksburg, Va. 24063, and/or The Virginia Tech German Club Foundation, 711 Southgate Drive, Blacksburg, 24060 and/or The Virginia Tech Corps of Cadets, 143 Brodie Hall, Blacksburg, 24061.
