Reed. OBITUARY: Louisa Matilda Morgan, daughter of Louis and Amanda Morgan was born in Keokuk county, Iowa, July 30, 1873, and departed this life, December 27, 1927, aged 54 years 4 months and 28 days. She was united in marriage to Frank Alexander Reed, July 3, 1889, at Oskaloosa, Iowa, after living there three years they left there and moved to Nebraska. Settling at Stamford, in the year 1892 after living there seven years, they moved over into Kansas settling near Jennings, in Decatur county, she lived here until the day of her death. Her husband passed away in 1915, leaving the children to her care. For twelve years she proved a mother's love to them, she suffered the hardships of life and did all that a mother could do. She united with the M.E. Church in 1901 and was true to the cause until death. Ten children were born to Mr. and Mrs. Reed, one dying at birth. Those living are Mrs. Rosie A. Foster, Mrs. Ellen S. Foster, Mrs. Amanda J. Foster, James L. Reed, Frankie A. (Bob) Reed, Mrs. Edith G. Daugherty, Mrs. Hattie L. Foster, Wilber E. Reed and Floid Reed. One brother, Ulysses Grant Morgan, of Wright, Iowa, and two sisters, Mrs. Alice Waltman and Mrs. Susie Douglas both of Algona, Iowa, also survive the deceased. Many other relatives and a host of friends mourn her death. Rev. F. J. Foster conducted funeral services in the M. E. Church at Jennings, Kansas, and the body lay to rest in the Jennings Cemetery. She fell asleep to wake again, in that bright spirit land; And when she crossed the vale of death, ‘Twas Jesus held her hand. We sincerely appreciate the kind help and comforting words from our dear friends and neighbors, in the sickness, death and burial of our mother. THE CHILDREN Written by F. J. Foster
