Description	:	Louisa Maud was born in England. She was one of 23 children, which included a set of twins. Her father was Michael Herbert Sinclair, and her mother was Eleanor (Collins) Sinclair. Louisa never liked her name, but wished to be called Louise, and many of her female descendants were given Louise as a middle name. Many people called her Lou. Louisa emigrated to Canada with her parents and four of her brothers in 1906-07. Those brothers were Herbert, Walter, Ralph Albert, and Rueben James. Louisa emigrated to Canada with her parents and four of her brothers in 1906-07. Those brothers were Herbert, Walter, Ralph Albert, and Rueben James. The location the family homesteaded did not have a name. Michael from Dover,and Hugh Lee coming from Greencourt, England, combined their origins and named the area Dovercourt. About ten year later, Louisa married Karl Abel Soderburg on April 16, 1916. Karl had emigrated to the U.S. but came to Canada in about 1908. Together they homesteaded in the Dovercourt, Alberta area. Louisa was especially fond of horses and cattle. Louisa gave birth to four children, the first three being born in the log home she and Karl built on their homestead, the fourth being born in Rocky Mountain House, Alberta. They were: Arthur Cyril Carl (Aug. 11, 1923 - Sept. 22, 2004) Frank Rueben (Mar. 7, 1918 - Apr. 24, 2011) Thelma Louise (Feb. 13, 1921 - Nov.13, 2006) Thelma Gordon Roy (Aug. 11, 1923 - Sept. 22, 2004) After raising their children and completing their homesteading, Louisa and Karl were able to move to Sylvan Lake, Alberta. It was there that they completed raising two grand children, Jean and Earl Soderburg, whose Mother had died of polio in 1953 when they were very small children. Louisa was fond of going to church and was a wonderful singer of all the old hymns. Husband Karl died July 21, 1972, and Louisa died Dec. 19, 1978.
