Burial will follow in the church cemetery directed by Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home. The family will receive friends 7-9 p.m. Sunday evening at the funeral home and other times at the residence of Mr. and Mrs. Walton Kirby, 5021 Stagecoach Road, Effingham. Born in Florence, she was a daughter of the late Arthur Clarence "A.C." and Lilla Hewitt Floyd. She was formerly employed with the Florence Manufacturing Co. and was retired from the Marlowe Manufacturing Co. She was a member of the Elim Baptist Church, the Florence Lide Circle and the Joy Club. She was preceded in death by her husband, Chaffie Chase "C.C." Singletary , who died in 1995; sister, Edna Mae Mitchum Miller; brother, Thomas Floyd. Surviving are her daughters of Effingham, of Florence, and Columbia; brother of Rock Hill; five grandchildren of Effingham, Florence, and Pawleys Island; five great-grandchildren and a number of special nieces and nephews.
