Duncan, 81, of Monon, died at 5:45 p.m. Sunday at Home Hospital in Lafayette where she was admitted six days ago. She had been in failing health for a year. Born Sept. 7, 1884 in Fairbury, Ill., she was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Michael Clerget. Her first marriage was to Victor Moncel in 1903, and after his death she was married to Samuel E. Duncan in Monon, who preceded her in death. She was a member of the Monon community for 60 years and a member of the Monon Baptist Church. Survivors include five daughters, Mrs. Minnie Day, of Star City, and Mrs. Gertrude Whitlow, Mrs. Dorothy Meeks, Mrs. Grace Pauley, and Mrs. Pearl Adams, all of Monon; a son, Bearl D. Moncel, of route 1, Monon; 18 grandchildren; 42 great-grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren. Two daughters, four sons, two sisters and two brothers preceded her in death. Funeral rites will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday in the Monon Baptist Church with Rev. Irvin King officiating. Burial will be in Roseland cemetery, at Francisville.
