Pallbearers were great-nephews: Dale Kimminau, Edwin Kimminau, Royce Kimminau, Michael Kolbet, Arnold Miller and Ivan Miller. Louise was born on August 1, 1916, south of St. Stephen. She was the tenth child of Herman and Elizabeth (Musenbrock) Kimminau. She graduated from St. Stephen School. After graduation, she lived at home helping to care for nieces and nephews who stayed there while attending Catholic school. She also helped at homes with new babies. In 1943, Louise became housekeeper at the St. Stephen parish rectory for Msgr. B.J. Haskamp. She also did the sacristy work and decorated the altars. She continued as sacristan until moving to the Good Samaritan Center in Nelson. Louise loved doing the church work and was often complimented on the beauty of the altars. Louise was member of the St. Stephen church choir. At the time the new church was built, she participated in plays and candy sales to fund the organ. On October 24, 1950, Louise married Alex Brockman at the St. Stephen church. They lived in St. Stephen. Mrs. Brockman was a life member of St. Stephen parish Altar Society and the DCCW. She served as Deanery Chairman for International Affairs for over twenty years. Louise attended Mass daily and spent many hours in prayer, especially during her later life. Louise was preceded in death by her husband, Alex; her parents; two sisters and seven brothers: Josephine (Mrs. Levi) Miller, Tony, George, Steve, Joe, Al, Margaret, Herman, Jr., and Clem. Surviving are two daughters and a son: Mary Wortmann and husband, Tony of Stanton, Nebr., Bernadette Brockman and Joseph Brockman and wife, Frances, all of Lawrence; two sisters-in-law, Bernice (Mrs. Clem) Kimminau and Caroline Brockman; nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, great-great nieces and nephews, great-great-great nieces and nephews, neighbors and friends.
