Description	:	Louise was born March 31, 1914, in Iowa City, the daughter of Carl and Annabelle (Shay) Schlenk. Louise was a graduate of St. Mary's High School, Iowa City, and attended the University of Iowa. On May 26, 1936, she married Glenn Pauley Sr. at St. Mary's Church. Glenn died Dec. 24, 1981. On Oct. 22, 1987, Louise married Earl Croskey in Stone City. Earl died in March 2007. Read More	Louise was born March 31, 1914, in Iowa City, the daughter of Carl and Annabelle (Shay) Schlenk. Louise was a graduate of St. Mary's High School, Iowa City, and attended the University of Iowa. On May 26, 1936, she married Glenn Pauley Sr. at St. Mary's Church. Glenn died Dec. 24, 1981. On Oct. 22, 1987, Louise married Earl Croskey in Stone City. Earl died in March 2007. A lifelong resident of Iowa City, Louise received her dental assistant certification from the University of Iowa and was one of the first dental assistants employed at the UI College of Dentistry, Pediatric Department. After leaving the university, she worked with several Iowa City dentists. Upon retirement, Louise and Glenn started Candle Creations, a professional candle-making business. They supplied stationary and gift stores in the area with custom-made candles. They traveled extensively in the United States, giving and attending workshops on candle-making. In 1976, as part of the restoration of the Old Capitol, Glenn and Louise donated 200 hand-dipped tallow candles for use throughout the building. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, St. Mary's Altar and Rosary Society, Iowa City Women's Club and the International Guild of Candle Artisans. Louise loved flower gardening, African violets, bonfires in the fall with her grandchildren complete with s'mores, making her "special hot dogs" and creating memories at Christmastime with and for her grandchildren. Louise was preceded in death by both husbands; sisters, Coletta Schlenk and Lois Thomas; and two brothers, Joseph Schlenk and William Schlenk.
