Mrs. Hawker was born May 7, 1921 in the Hannah Branch community, the daughter of the late Annie Elizabeth Caplinger and Clarence L. Oakley. A Brother and a Sister preceded her in death, J. C. Oakley and Frances Nixon. She was married to Charles Bratten Hawker on June 24, 1939 and he preceded her in death on May 4, 1995. A Grandson, Bradley Scott Hawker preceded them in death. She worked at the Alexandria Garment Plant for 30 years. She was a homemaker and was a member of the Pisgah United Methodist Church. Mrs. Hawker is survived by Two Sons and Daughters-in-Law: Danny and Helen Hawker of Lebanon, TN and Larry and Elaine Hawker of Lebanon, TN. Daughter and Son-in-Law, Loretta and Don Malone of Liberty, TN. Eight Grandchildren and Ten Great Grandchildren. Mrs. Hawker's remains are at the Avant Funeral Home, Alexandria, TN. Funeral Services for Mrs. Hawker will be held at the Pisgah United Methodist Church on Friday, September 5, 2008 at 2:00 P.M. with Bro. Matthew Long and Bro. Perry Clayton, officiating. Interment will follow in the Church Cemetery. The Hawker family will receive friends at the Avant Funeral Home on Thursday from 5:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. and on Friday from 10:00 A.M. until we leave to go to Church at 1:15 P.M.
