She had been stricken with appendicitis on April 22 and was rushed to St. Mary's hospital in Columbus for an operation. Complications developed and she was critically ill for some time. She was born July 12, 1927 at Cedar Rapids and was a 6th grader at St. Anthony's school. She is survived by her parents; four sisters, Leona, Pauline, Margaret, and Winifred; and two brothers, Joseph and Robert. Funeral services were held Saturday [July 15] at 8:00 o'clock at St. Anthony's church. Burial was made in the parish cemetery. Monsignor McGuire, her uncle, of Rockford, Ill., read the Requiem Mass. Father Leonard Van Ackeren, of Conception, Mo., officiated at the burial service.
