Louise Enola Lobaugh was born on October 28, 1924 and passed away Wednesday, February 26, 2014, at Emory University Hospital in Atlanta, GA at the age of 89. Louise was delivered by her oldest sister, Icle, on a farm at her family's home in Sac City, Iowa. She was the twelfth child of 6 boys and 6 girls born to William and Dollie Kapaska. She attended high school at Nevada High where she met her future husband, Donald J. Lobaugh. Louise and Donald eloped and were married on May 21, 1942 in Bethany, Missouri. The couple was blessed with the birth of 3 children – Larry, Nancy and Dennis. For many years Louise worked with her husband on the family farm in Nevada, Iowa and later on the farm that they purchased in Richland Township, Orient, Iowa. Upon leaving the farm, Louise worked with her husband, at the Farmers and Merchants State Bank in Orient, Iowa. Louise was a bank teller who worked for her husband, the bank manager. Louise and Donald retired together from the bank on April 26, 1987. Louise lost her husband to a stroke and heart disease in October of 1997. Due to declining health, Louise has lived with her daughter and son-in-law in Kennesaw, GA for the last 5 years. In recent years Louise survived sepsis, a pulmonary embolism, uterine and breast cancer, and a massive heart attack. She was above all a survivor who loved life, family and friends. Louise was a loving and caring wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who loved socializing with and cooking for family and friends. Louise was loved by everyone who knew her for her generosity and kindness. One of her favorite activities was to play cards and she loved playing gin, pitch, pinochle, hearts and bridge with family and friends. Over the last several years, she especially looked forward to playing bridge every Sunday night with her grandson Michael. She and Michael were partners and she often had fun telling her doctor and friends when she and Michael beat "the competition". She was also an excellent hearts and pinochle player. She is survived by her son, Larry G. Lobaugh and his wife, Cheryl of Gainesville, GA, her daughter Nancy L. Gayler and her husband, Richard (Dick) of Kennesaw, GA, her daughter-in-law Linda Lobaugh of Dow City, IA; seven grandchildren, Lisa Haney of Irvine, CA, Matthew Gayler and his wife Julie of Maysville, NC, Stacy Weeks and her husband Stephen of Acworth, GA, Michael Gayler of Marietta, GA, Dana Lobaugh and his wife Janeen of Dow, City, IA, Darren Lobaugh and his wife, Amanda of Council Bluffs, IA, and Diana Lobaugh of Omaha, NE; twelve great-grandchildren, Ty Haney, Ryan Haney, Ian Gayler, Zoe Gayler, Eli Gayler, Justin Weeks, Kaitlin Avery Weeks, Derek Lobaugh, Dillion Lobaugh, Jamison Lobaugh, Carter Lobaugh, and Quentin Lobaugh; other relatives and friends.
