Tuesday, September 9, 2008 at St. Lawrence Church in Carroll. The Celebrant will be Father Timothy Schott. Burial will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Carroll. Menke, age 84 of Carroll died Friday, September 5, 2008 at Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines. Mass of the Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 A.M. Louise was born March 6, 1924 at Fort Madison, Iowa, the daughter of Henry J. and Emma (Wiggenjost) Fraune She attended St. Mary's Catholic School and graduated from Catholic Central High School in Fort Madison in 1942. She worked as a First Aid Nurse at Sheaffer Pen Company in Fort Madison for 5 years. She attended Iowa State University in Ames, Iowa. On September 6, 1947 she married Clarence "Curly" Menke at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Fort Madison, Iowa. They lived in several cities in Iowa and in Phoenix, Arizona. In 1966, they moved to Carroll. She was a member of St. Lawrence Church, and the St. Lawrence Ladies Guild. She was a realtor, belonging to Carroll Multiple Listings, and the Iowa and National Association of Realtors. She was also a member of the Cleo Club, a Federated Women's Club, and was on the Board of Carroll Concert Association. For 6 Years in Audubon she was a member of the Garden Club and The Great Books Club. She enjoyed bridge, photography, art, her family, music, and traveling. Survivors include her husband Clarence "Curly" Menke of Carroll; four daughters, Janet Darveaux of Scottsdale, Arizona; Joan Potthoff and her husband Pete of Glendale, Arizona; Karen Dentlinger and her husband Neil of Portland, Oregon; Jane Pipich and her husband Mike of Highlands Ranch, Colorado; five grandchildren, John Darveaux, Ryan Potthoff, Jill Roberts and her husband Brian, Adam and Kevin Pipich; three sisters, Ruth Krogmeier and her husband Ed of Fort Madison, Iowa; Viola Menke of Clear Lake, Iowa; Helen Loving of West Point, Iowa; two brothers, Robert Fraune and his wife Rose of Waterloo, Iowa; James Fraune and his wife Dottie of Revere, Missouri. She was preceded in death by a son Ronald Menke in 1987, her parents, three sisters, including, Alice Fedler, Joan Fraune, and Arlene Walljasper, and one brother, Paul Fraune.
