Read More	From the Skidmore, Missouri New Era newspaper, July 27, 1911, page 1: Grandma Ward Dies at Home of Her Son Passed Away Monday July 24 and Was Buried Tuesday, Aged 86 Years Louise Hammond was born January 25, 1825, at Berry St. Edmonds, England, and died July 24, 1911, aged 86 years and 6 months. She was married to William Ward December 7, 1845, at Salem, Ohio. To this union was born 7 children, three of whom are now living. She was converted at the early age of 16 and united with the M. E. church at Salem, Ohio. Throughout her life she lived a devout Christian. Mrs. Ward has been making her home for the past 12 months with her son, Walter B. Ward, and her daughter, Mrs. A. M. Long. She usually made her winter home with her son, Walter, and spent the summer with her daughter, Mrs. Long, but this spring she was quite weak and infirm and did not move to her daughter's home. She lived to a good ripe old age and her life has been a blessing and a benediction to all who knew her. She will be greatly missed by her many friends and relatives who sincerely mourn the loss of a dear friend.
