Mrs. Bunce was in the prime of life, and evidently was unaware of the deadly nature of the fluid she handled with such nonchalence [sic]. Mrs. B. was several months advanced in pregnancy, and at her urgent solicitation her husband procured a quantity of the oil of tansy at the drug store in Hubbard. He gave the poison to her, first exacting a promise from her that she would not take it until she ascertained the quantity necessary to produce an abortion. Saturday evenin[g] about 9 o'clock, she took the conte[nts] of the vial, half an ounce, and died one hour afterwards, after suffering in great agony. She leaves five small children to do battle with the world without the kind and watchful care of a fond mother. The lady was much loved and respected by all here acquaintances.
