''''''''''''''''''' The Spalding Enterprise, April 30, 1909, p. 1, col. 1 & 2 Death of Louise Keenan Died, at St. Joseph's hospital in Omaha, Louise, the youngest daughter of Mr. Con Keenan, who lives five miles southeast of Spalding. Seldom has it been our duty to record so sudden a death. A dark gloom spread over the whole community when it was whispered from one to another on Tuesday that Miss Louise Keenan had died, after a sickness from a fever which was of brief duration, on the Monday evening before. In the death of Miss Keenan the people of this community fully and keenly realize their loss. She was a kind loving daughter and her devotion to the family circle had no limits. Here she played as a child, developed into beautiful girlhood; here her short but busy life was spent, and her faithful service rendered to the world. She had been residing with a sister in Omaha the past year and would have been twenty-three years old in October. She leaves to mourn her loss an aged and respected father, eight sisters and one brother, Mrs. Clara Giles, Mrs. Thos. Fox, Mrs. Lawrence Hooker, and Mrs. Wm. Curtin, of Spalding, Mrs. Lizzie Devine, Mrs. Fannie Devine and Mrs. Dennis Cline of Omaha, Miss Hannah Keenan, of Van Horn, Iowa, and Wm. S. Keenan, of Primrose, all of whom were present at the funeral. The remains arrived here on Wednesday from Omaha and the funeral occurred Thursday morning from St. Michael's church, Rev. Father Davlin, of Hartshorn, Oklahoma, officiating, interment being in the Catholic cemetery.
