Mrs. Billings was born December 11, 1930 in Wilkes County to Lemon Garfield and Mattie Jane Myers Combs. She was a member of Oak Ridge Baptist Church and was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two brothers; June and Ray Combs, one sister; Polly Bryant. She is survived by one daughter; Brenda Cranfill and husband, David, one son; James (Jimmy) Lawrence Billings, Jr. all of Hays, six grandchildren; Kimberly Turner and husband, Chris of Waxhaw, Timothy Church and wife, Lindsay of Charlotte, Jamie Church and wife, Wendi of Hays, Melissa Greene and husband, Daniel of Roaring River, Scottie Cranfill and wife, Amy of Dobson, and Jimmy Billings III. Fourteen great grandchildren; Kathryn Turner, Caroline Turner, Benjamin Church, Abigail Church, Sierra Church, Aaliyah Church, Allen Cranfill, Matthew Cranfill and wife; Shawna, Maranda Greene, Marissa Greene, Dylan Billings and wife, Nicky, Emily Vain, Meghan Vain, Gabrielle Vain and one great great grandson; Jessie Cranfill, one brother; Rev. Ted Combs and wife, Doris, two sisters; Betty Cothren, Peggy Street and husband, Arvel all of Hays. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to Pruitt-Health Hospice, 902 West D Street, North Wilkesboro, NC 28659.
