JACOB SCHNEBERGER Mrs. Jacob Schneberger died at her home three miles northwest of Staplehurst on July 30, 1918, after an illness of about six weeks, aged 43 years, 7 months and 15 days. Louisa Reinmiller was born at Dwight, Illinois, and while yet a little girl came with her parents, brothers and sisters, and settled on a farm near Staplehurst, where she spent most of her young life. On June 16, 1902, she was married to Jacob Schneberger, who with one son, Jacob Jr., survives her. Deceased became very ill about the middle of June and Dr. Welch of Lincoln was called to assist the home physicians in performing a surgical operation, which for a time seemed to alleviate her sufferings but it was not God’s will that she should be left with those who loved her and she passed away on July 30, to that happy home above. Besides the loving care of her husband, son and other relatives there were two trained nurses in constant attendance at her bedside. Deceased became converted to the Catholic faith about sixteen years ago and since then has been a devoted member of St. Mary’s church at Ulysses. Owing to the absence of Rev. Father Loughran, who was chosen to accompany Bishop O’Reilly on a trip to the Great Lakes, the funeral services were conducted by Rev. Father Franz on August 1, at the Ulysses Catholic church. The beautiful floral offerings and the long line of automobiles which the followed the remains to the cemetery, attest the high esteem in which deceased was held by all who knew her. Besides her husband and son, she leaves her aged mother, five brothers, Adam, Peter, John, Conrad and Louis Reinmiller and four sisters, Mrs. Burgher, Mrs. Schultz, Mrs. Paul Woods and Mrs. Delmer Coatney. Our kindest sympathy is extended to all the bereaved ones, especially to the husband and to the son who is left without the loving care of his mother. We know that God loved your mamma So gentle and kind and true But the angels brought her to heaven And some day they’ll come for you. And now you must comfort your papa So smile whenever you can, For death is the doorway to heaven And a part of God’s great plan.
