She married Berg Edgar Allison Jan. 14, 1934. He preceded her in death Feb. 6, 1959. She married Edwin Ralph Mitchell Oct. 4, 1964. He preceded her in death March 31, 2003. She was a graduate of Ottumwa High School and had been a resident of Ottumwa most of her life. She was a member of the First Christian Church and a long time member of the American Guild of Organists. She was the organist at Reece Funeral Home for over 40 years, retiring in 1998, and also served as organist at the First Christian Church. She was a well known piano teacher in Ottumwa. Survivors include two sons, David Berg (Joy) Allison of Ottumwa and Charles Robert (Sue) Allison of Colorado Springs, Colo.; daughter, Ann Louise (Tom) Dorr of Alexandria, Va.; two stepdaughters, Patricia (Gus) Pappaducas of Ottumwa and Joanne (Jack) Ellenberger of Colorado Springs, Colo.; 12 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and four sisters, Marjorie Burns of Des Moines, Betty Sadler of Elburn, Ill., Doris Howell of Pensacola, Fla. and Janet York of Flippin, Ark. She was preceded in death by her parents; grandson, Jeffrey Allison; and brother, George Overturf. Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Thursday at Reece Funeral Home, with the Rev. Bill Kanne officiating. Burial will be in Shaul Cemetery. Visitation will begin 9 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home with the family present from 5-7 p.m. Memorials may be made to the First Christian Church.
