She was born March 27, 1929 in Wapello County to Josiah Paul and Delta Mae Holcomb Stewart. She married Rex Lionel Bowersox on Dec. 25, 1947 in Douds. He preceded her in death on Sept. 18, 2010. Louise was a farm wife, taught in rural Davis County Schools, worked at Douds Stone, and was the deputy recorder in Davis County for several years. She was a member of Mission Circle, AARP, and served as SHIP representative for Davis County. She is survived by a daughter, Janet (Bill) Rominger of Bloomfield; son, Ira Joe (Sherlyn) Bowersox of Bloomfield; three grandchildren, Jared Wayne (Emily) Bowersox of Milton, Randy (Tamra) Rominger of Bloomfield, Renetta Mendoza, also of Bloomfield; four great-grandchildren; and a brother, Rex (Liz) Stewart of Drakesville. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; two brothers, Donald Stewart, Herbert Stewart in infancy; and a sister, Doris Dearborn. Graveside services with burial of the cremains will be at the Bethel Cemetery near Hayesville at a later date. A memorial has been established to Hospice of Wapello and Davis Counties and may be mailed to: P.O. Box 1150, Ottumwa, Iowa 52501.
