Louise Virginia Marion, 71, of Staunton, died Sunday, Sept. 9, 2001 at Oak Hill Center. She was born Oct. 29, 1929 in Highland County, a daughter of Oliver Luther and Elva Mullenax Mullenax. She grew up in Bartow, W.Va. and graduated from Green Bank High School. She attended Moody Bible College in Chicago. She had worked at Western State Hospital and as a storekeeper. She was a member of the Staunton Senior Citizens. Her husband, Earlie T. Marion, preceded her in death on Nov. 13, 1985. She was also preceded in death by a brother, Ralph Mullenax. She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law. Jay and Pam Marion of Verona; two brothers, Eugene Mullenax of Brownsburg and William Mullenax of Staunton; two sisters, Catherine Lilly of Florida and Stelle Collins of Chesapeake; a grandson, Adam Marion; three step-grandchildren, Jennifer, Jonathon and Michelle; two step-great-grandchildren, Joshua arid Luke Thacker; and a number of nieces and nephews. A funeral service was conducted at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Sept 12 at Obaugh Funeral Home in McDowell by the Rev. Harry Moore. Burial was in the Mullenax Family Cemetery on Allegheny Mountain in Highland County.
