Description	:	DEATH OF GRANDMA BROWN Old Resident of Colfax Passes Away After Long Illness Mrs. Loving Bentz Brown, aged 73 years, 6 months and 17 days, died at her home in this city last Friday, having been in poor health for a long time. Funeral services were held at the Methodist Church Monday afternoon, Rev. N.M. Jones officiating, interment taking place in Colfax Cemetery. The funeral was largely attended. Funeral services were held at the Methodist Church Monday afternoon, Rev. N.M. Jones officiating, interment taking place in Colfax Cemetery. The funeral was largely attended. Lovina Bentz was born June 7, 1937, in Ohio, and moved to Sterling, Nebr., where she was married to John T. Brown. In 1878 the family started for Washington but stopped at Ogden, Utah, where the husband was killed by lightning, after which the rest of the family returned to Nebraska. In 1888 she came to Colfax, where she lived until death. Deceased was a member of the M.E. Church from early youth. Seven children were born to her, six of whom survive. They are Miss Arminda Brown and J.B. Brown of Colfax; Mrs. Mary Bishop of Wardner, Idaho; Mrs. Sarah Button of Seattle; Mrs. G.G. Galloway of Spokane; and Mrs. A.D. Baker of Eugene, Oregon.
