Renfrow Passed Away September 25th The funeral services of Mrs. Lovina Gotham, whose death occurred in this city on Tuesday, September 25th, 1917, were held at the Methodist church on Friday afternoon, the 28th, inst., Rev. C.W. Smith presiding. Quite a large number of friends and old neighbors of the deceased were present to add their sympathy to the bereaved family and also show their respects to one they had so long known and highly respected. Interment was made in Edgewood cemetery, the pallbearers being Ernest, Emory, Clifford and Eldred Ash and Marion and Charley Wiltsie, all relatives of the deceased. Mrs. Lovina Roberts was born in Janesville, Wisconsin, August 28th, 1846, and when but two years of age came to Iowa, which state has been her home ever since with the exception of ten years spent with her two sons in North Dakota. Six months ago, because of il health, she returned to Edgewood and has since that time made her home with her daughter, Mrs. Anna Renfrow, in this place, and at whose home her death occurred. She was united in marriage with Bertram Gotham on April 13th, 1873, and to them were born five children, two of whom died in early childhood. The other three living and who were present at the funeral were Merton and Fred Gotham of Hanks, North Dakota, and Mrs. Anna Renfrow, of Edgewood. Mr. Gotham died in June 1916, at Hot Springs, South Dakota. The deceased leaves besides the three children, three grandchildren and one great grandchild, to mourn. Two sisters, Mrs. chauncey Gill of Howard, N.D., and Mrs. John Bishop of Nashville, Mo., and two brothers, Frank Roberts of Rockford, Illinois, and Will Roberts of Eagle Bend, Minn. The writer has known Mrs. Gotham personally for many years past and has always found her to be a kind affectionate mother, a true neighbor and friend and a woman who could number her friends by those who knew her. We want to express our sympathy with those who mourn the loss of a mother at this time. CARD OF THANKS The writer's pen can but feebly express the sincere appreciation we wish to extend all who assisted us in the illness and burial of our dear mother, and grandmother. We are also grateful to those bringing such beautiful flowers and speaking words of comfort in the sad time through which we have just passed. Mrs. Anna Renfrow and Family Merton and Fred Gotham.
