Lowell Kasischke, age 89 of Hubbard, Iowa passed away on Sunday, 24 Dec 2017 at the Valley View Specialty Care in Eldora, IA. Lowell Earnest Kasischke was born on 23 Mar 1928 in Eldora, IA. He was the youngest of three children born to Henry and Elnora (SCHWARTZ) Kasischke. He grew up on the family farm between Hubbard and New Providence. He received his education in the New Providence School System graduating with the Class of 1949. In 1952 Lowell was drafted into the U. S. Marine Corp towards the end of the Korean Conflict. He served in Japan and was discharged in 1954. On 7 Sept 1954 Lowell was united in marriage to SHARON KUHLMAN at St. John Lutheran Church near State Center, IA. They spent their entire working lives farming the family century farm. Lowell was a member of the St. John Lutheran Church where he served various offices and was active in the New Providence Ruritan. He also enjoyed being a 4-H volunteer. His hobbies included collecting match books and caps. He enjoyed spending time with his family and attended every family function that he could. Lowell passed away peacefully on Sunday, 24 Dec 2017 at the Valley View Nursing Home in Eldora. Those thankful for having shared his life include his wife Sharon of 63 years of Hubbard ; three children KENT of Hubbard, Lynette (Lynn) HEETLAND of Waukee and Kendra KASISCHKE of Waukee; three granddaughters Chelsie (Tim) Stilwill, Kayla (Brett) Handsaker and Sadie (Austin) Frederiksen; one great-grandson Quinlynn Stilwill; along with one “honorary daughter” Elaine Andrews of Grafton, WV; one sister-in-law Myrtis Kuhlman of State Center; and numerous nieces and nephews.
