Read More	. 2ND LT US ARMY AIR FORCES 2ND LT US ARMY WORLD WAR II KOREA Lowell William "Bill" Parke Age 77 of Wilmington, DE passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 24, 2003, surrounded by his family. Born in Canton, SD on October 22, 1925, Mr. Parke was the youngest child of Dr. Leroy Lowell and Naomi (Dalton) Parke. In 1943, he joined the U.S. Army Air Corps, serving until 1945. He graduated from the University of South Dakota, earning his Bachelor of Arts degree in physical chemistry in 1949 and his Master of Arts degree in physical chemistry in 1952. He was called back to active duty in the U.S. Army Chemical Corps in July 1951 until 1953. He began his career with E.I. duPont de Nemours, Inc. in Seaford, DE, moving to Wilmington with the company in 1956. He retired from the textile fiber department at E.I. duPont de Nemours in 1986, after serving the company for 34 years. Mr. Parke was an active member of the Republican Party. He served as the Representative District Chairman, the Millcreek/Christiana Regional Chair-man and as a delegate to the Republican State Conventions, a delegate to the Republican National Convention in 1976, and Elector for the State of Delaware in 1980. In June 1998, he was confirmed by the Delaware Senate as a member of the Board of Elections for New Castle County. He will be dearly missed by his wife of 45 years, Lois (McDonnell) Parke; his sons, Kevin W. Parke of Dallas, TX and Philip E. Parke of Wilmington, DE; and his daughter, Kathleen Parke Mestre and her husband, Juan of Bowie, MD. Also surviving are 4 grandchildren, Kevin W. Parke, Jr., Benjamin B. Parke and David M. Parke, all of Dallas, TX and Philip E. Parke, Jr. of Wilmington, DE; and his sister, Helen P. Bol of FL. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Monday, April 28 at 10 am at St. Joseph on the Brandywine Church, 10 Old Church Rd., Greenville, where family and friends may call after 9 am. Interment will follow in the adjoining cemetery. Anyone wishing to make a donation in Bill's memory may do so to the Leukemia Society of Delaware, 100 W. 10th St., Wilmington, DE 19801.
