Myers, 92, of Berne died Friday, May 16, 2008, at Swiss Village in Berne. He was born March 26, 1916 in Adams County. He married Myrtle A. (Rupright) Myers May 24, 1941, in McCordsville. She preceded him in death Aug. 12, 1993. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He retired from Decatur General Electric in 1978 after more than 37 years of service. He was a member of Ossian First Presbyterian Church and Bluffton Masonic Lodge, and a lifetime member of VFW and the American Legion in Decatur. Surviving relatives include one daughter, Phyllis Montgomery (Clarel) of Berne, and one half-brother, Donald Max Myers of Decatur. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at Elzey-Patterson-Rodak Funeral Home Ossian Chapel at 10:30 a.m. Visitation will be today from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. Military graveside rites will be held at Prairie View Cemetery in Tocsin. Preferred memorials are to Family Hospice of Northeastern Indiana.
