Loyd was united in marriage to Geraldine M. House on April 18, 1944 in Riceville. To this union four sons were born: Dean, Donald, Lee and Gary. Loyd was a retired farmer. He enjoyed his Sunday outings with Geraldine for lunch and Sunday drives. Loyd is survived by four sons: Dean and his wife Norma Foster of Riceville, Don and his wife Debra Foster of Greene, IA, Lee and his wife Jean Foster of Riceville, and Gary and his wife Janice Foster of Riceville; 15 grandchildren, many great grandchildren. Loyd was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Geraldine in 2007, one grandson, one daughter-in-law, 2 brothers Lyle and Curtis and a sister Carol Foster.
