Albert J. Harris, for Mr. and Mrs. Earl Green and young daughter, Beverly, who lost their lives by drowning on July 7th in Croft Lake, near Bandon, Oregon. Music for the funeral was furnished by a quartet comprised of Mr. and Mrs. Leo T. Adams, Mrs. Letha Cooke, and Ray Hoffman, who sang: "Beautiful Valley of Peace", "Just When I Need Him Most", and "Jesus Never Fails", with Mrs. A. J. Harris playing the piano accompaniment. Pallbearers for Mr. and Mrs. Green were Asa B. Hubbard, Edwin Trennepohl, Anson Fauquier, Leon Hertel, Charles C. Fauquier, John Honeywell, Earl Medcalf, Alvin Johnson, Loyd Pichler, John Albers Jr., Clifford Potter, and Louis Rothchild. Four young ladies, dressed in white, carried the casket of little Beverly Green. They were: Mildred Fauquier, Deloris Albers, Doreen Tangeman, and Helen Watson. There was an abundance of flowers, being more than a dozen large boxes of floral offerings. The three caskets were placed in one large grave in the Chambers Cemetery. During the funeral rites the church was crowded to capacity by relatives and friends of the deceased; many more being unable to even get standing room. On Monday, July 10th, a funeral service was also held for the Greens in a chapel at Coquille, Oregon, and was attended by Bobby Green, his uncles, Ray and Clifford Green, and their families, and a large crowd of friends, several of these being former residents of the Chambers community.
