Through his first marriage, Loyd had 5 children: Jimmy (1947), Ann (1949-1991), Ramonia (1952), Ricky (1954), & Teresa (1956). Through his second marriage, he had 1 child: Sha (1973). Loyd has 13 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-grandchildren (as of 2016 - unsure of any additional). Born Jan. 15, 1926, in Stanly County, Mr. Russell, a son of the lateJessie and Olle Russell, was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II. He retired from Wiscassett Mill Co. and was a member of Marion Church of God in Marion, S.C. A daughter, Ann Smith, died in 1990. Survivors include wife Carol Spencer Russell, Marion, S.C.; sons Jimmy and Ricky Russell, both of New London; daughters Shay Coley, Marion, S.C., and Teresa Tucker and Ramona Clark, both of New London; brother William Russell, Florida; sisters Carol Barnette, Greensboro, and Nellie Lowder, Pauline Carpenter, Louise Kipley and Katherine Smith, all of Albemarle; 12 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. Services: 2 p.m. Wednesday, Albemarle Pentecostal Holiness Church, conducted by the Rev. Bob Elwood, the Rev. Allen Black, the Rev. Gene Morgan, and the Rev. Maxie Hardee.
