Description	:	The soul of Mr. Loyd Marvin Mittelstaedt was called to his heavenly Father’s home in heaven on away Monday, September 08, 2014, at the Pierce Manor, at the venerable age of 78 years 7 months 16 days. Loyd was born on January 23, 1936, in Norfolk. He was raised on the family farm in Pierce County. He was baptized and confirmed at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Hadar and had graduated from Pierce High School. On June 6, 1955, Loyd was united in marriage with Delores “Dee” Grimm. Loyd was born on January 23, 1936, in Norfolk. He was raised on the family farm in Pierce County. He was baptized and confirmed at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Hadar and had graduated from Pierce High School. On June 6, 1955, Loyd was united in marriage with Delores “Dee” Grimm. The couple made their home in Norfolk. He was employed by Griswald Seed Company and farmed until he joined the Norfolk Fire Department in 1959. Loyd was also active in the Civil Defense teaching several classes. He retired from the fire department in 1980. The same year he began his 24 year career driving a bus for Arrow Stage Line retiring in 2003. From 1968 until 2000, Loyd opened graves in numerous cemeteries in Madison and Pierce counties. Loyd earned his private pilot’s license in 1972. In 1974, he became co-owner of a plane. He was preceded in death by: …his parents and …a brother, ……Lawrence Mittelstaedt. Visitation for family and friends will be held from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m., Wednesday, September 10, 2014, at the Home for Funerals. Christian Funeral services for Loyd M. Mittelstaedt will be conducted at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, September 11, 2014, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Hadar. Reverend Nathaniel J. Winkel will officiate. Burial will be in the New Lutheran Cemetery in Norfolk.
