Description	:	JESSUP, Harold Gray, Lieutenant Colonel (retired), U.S. Army, 77, originally of Powhatan, Va., passed away on May 22, 2015. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Dorinda "Winnie" Davis Jessup, originally of Howertons, Va.; and one son, Harold Gray Jessup Jr. of Richmond, Va. Other survivors include two sisters, Charlotte Duke of Saluda and Delene Worsham of Powhatan; and five brothers, Sonny (Stan), Leon (Joan) and Danny of Powhatan, Artie (Charlotte) of Hampton and Benny (Jody) of Bracy, Va. He retired from the U.S. Army in 1987 after more than 31 years of service in the Virginia Army National Guard and the U.S. Army. He served over 15 years on the staff of the Adjutant General's Office at State Headquarters of the Virginia National Guard. After that he served on active duty over eight years in the Pentagon on the staff of the National Guard Bureau, The Office of the Secretary of the Army and The Office of the Secretary of Defense. In 2000, after a successful second career, he retired from the international trade show industry. He was a lifelong member of May Memorial Baptist Church in Powhatan and was a past member of the Board of Deacons. He moved his membership to Columbia Baptist Church in Falls Church, Va. in 1980, when he relocated his family to Fairfax. A memorial service will be held at May Memorial Baptist Church in Powhatan Monday, June 1, at 2 p.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to your favorite charity.
