Description	:	Louis Brandt, son of Louis and Margaret Brandt was born in Anderlingen, Germany, on January 14, 1863. He died at his home in Gibbon, Nebraska, on August 11, 1947, at the age of 84 years, 7 months and 28 days. He came from Germany to Jackson County, Illinois, when he was 19 years of age. In February of 1887 he came to Butler County, Nebraska. He came to Buffalo County into the vicinity of Gibbon in 1921 and was engaged in farming until 1940 when he moved to Gibbon. He was united in marriage with Miss Marie Hoeft in Butler... Read More	Louis Brandt, son of Louis and Margaret Brandt was born in Anderlingen, Germany, on January 14, 1863. He died at his home in Gibbon, Nebraska, on August 11, 1947, at the age of 84 years, 7 months and 28 days. He came from Germany to Jackson County, Illinois, when he was 19 years of age. In February of 1887 he came to Butler County, Nebraska. He came to Buffalo County into the vicinity of Gibbon in 1921 and was engaged in farming until 1940 when he moved to Gibbon. He was united in marriage with Miss Marie Hoeft in Butler County, Nebraska, on February 20, 1890. To them eight children were born. Of his immediate family there are left to cherish his memory, and to mourn his death; his wife, and his eight children: Margaret Stephens and Anna Glock of Rising City, Nebraska; Marie Scheele of Loveland, Colorado; Louis of Shelton, Nebraska; Albert of Gibbon, Nebraska; Ella Firkins of Grand Island; Emma Scheele and Adolph of Dix, Nebraska. There are also twelve grnadchildren and six great grandchildren. One grandchild, having died in infancy, being the only one of his own descendants that has preceded him in death. He leaves also one brother, Theese Brandt of Superior, Nebraska, and two sisters, Anna Langrebe, and Ellen Moehrs of Red Bud, Illinois. There were two brothers and two sisters who preceded him in death. He was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith, and in this faith he continued to the end of his life. The funeral services were conducted from the Presbyterian Church in Gibbon, Nebraska, by Dr. George E. Chapman, on Wednesday afternoon, August 18th, at two o'clock. Mr. Morris C. Stephens, a son-in-law, sang two humns, accompanied by Mrs. Leroy Sides. Six grandsons, Maynard Glock, Merril Dean Brandt, Leonard Babcock, Dale Etherton, Dean Scheele and Darold Brandt acted as casket bearers. Burial was in Riverside Cemetery at Gibbon, Nebraska.
