Description	:	Llewellyn (Lee) David Christensen (72) was the first of four children born to Walter Carl Christensen and Marie Albertina Davick. He was born on October 9, 1924 in Kenmare, ND. Lee attended the University of North Dakota from 1941-1943. WWII came along and his college education was interrupted so he could serve as a fighter pilot in the U.S. Navy on an aircraft carrier in the South Pacific from 1943 to 1946. He then graduated with a BS in Agricultural Economics from ND State University in 1948. Lee met his future wife, Marge, at the University... Read More	Llewellyn (Lee) David Christensen (72) was the first of four children born to Walter Carl Christensen and Marie Albertina Davick. He was born on October 9, 1924 in Kenmare, ND. Lee attended the University of North Dakota from 1941-1943. WWII came along and his college education was interrupted so he could serve as a fighter pilot in the U.S. Navy on an aircraft carrier in the South Pacific from 1943 to 1946. He then graduated with a BS in Agricultural Economics from ND State University in 1948. Lee met his future wife, Marge, at the University of North Dakota in Grand Forks. They met again at a social gathering in Minneapolis and on January, 1956 Lee married Marjorie Ann Aamodt, daughter of Carrie Lande and Arne Wergeland Aamodt. They were married at the First Methodist Church in the Hutchenson Chapel at Fargo, ND. Lee served as Soil conservationist from 1956-1971 and as President of North Dakota Association of Soil Conservation Districts. From 1960-1965 Lee was elected to the ND state legislature 1960 and served in the House of Representatives. He was elected to ND State Senate from, 1966-1976. He was elected Senate Minority Leader in 1971 and 1973; Chairman of the ND State Agricultural Stabilization and Conservation Committee 1976-1980. Lee died of colon cancer. Lee and Marge adopted three children: 1. David Carl Christensen 2. Jill Ann Christensen m. Timothy Paul Carlson. 3 children (Erin, Courtney and Mallory) 3. Kirk Arne Christensen m. Paula Kay Norden 1 child: Iver Lee Christensen.
