LuAnn Ruth (Harms) Kaiser was born on July 17, 1931, the daughter of Fred and Anna (Hagenow) Harms on the family farm in Maxfield Township, east of Denver. LuAnn Ruth (Harms) Kaiser was born on July 17, 1931, the daughter of Fred and Anna (Hagenow) Harms on the family farm in Maxfield Township, east of Denver. She was baptized and confirmed at St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church (Maxfield) Denver, Iowa. She attended country school at Maxfield #3 thru the 8th grade and then attended Denver High School her freshman year and then Readlyn High School, where she graduated in 1949. On June 5, 1949, she was united in marriage to Harold H. Kaiser at St. John Evangelical Church, Maxfield. The couple set up farming and remained on the farm until they retired and moved into Ledges #4, Waverly in 2011. LuAnn worked at Fred's Super Valu, Waverly and then at Hinson's Manufacturing in Waterloo until 1965 when she went to work at Carnation (Nestle's) in Waverly, where she remained for 31 years retiring in 1996. She enjoyed life on the farm, but also enjoyed her work and the wonderful friends she made while working. She also enjoyed gardening, doing embroidery work, word finds, and found great joy in spending time visiting with her family and friends. Nothing could bring a bigger smile to her face then spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Even when faced with considerable health challenges and struggles she remained positive and always had a smile on her face. LuAnn was a member of St. John's United Church of Christ Siegel, and a member of the Women's Fellowship. Survivors are her three children, Charles (Debra) Kaiser of Waverly, Debra (DuWayne) Pipho of Denver and Kevin (Kimberly) Kaiser of Waverly; her 8 grandchildren, Christopher Kaiser, Kimberlee (Adam) Klein, Nathan Pipho, Matthew (Deidra) Pipho, Michael (Mica) Pipho, Travis (Lindsay) Kaiser, Katie (Tucker) Sebetka and Russell Kaiser; her 9 great-grandchildren, Brodee, Adalee, Jordee, and Gradee Klein, Ellody, Maxwell and Jaxen Pipho, Weston Kaiser and Conrad Sebetka. She is also survived by her three sisters, Alita Keller, Delores (Harold) Meier and Carolyn Happel; three sisters-in-law, Luella Harms, Arlyce (Oscar) Heideman and Janis Kaiser and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Kaiser on February 19, 2016; her parents; three brothers, August, Lorenz and Eric Harms; sister, Elva Pipho and four brothers-in-law, John Pipho, Wally Keller, Harold Happel and Elwin Kaiser. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, March 7, 2017 at 11:00 am at St. John United Church of Christ – Siegel rural Waverly with Pastors Eugene Walther and Nathan Pipho officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held on Monday, March 6th from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm at the Kaiser-Corson Funeral Home in Waverly and also an hour prior to the service on Tuesday at the church. Kaiser-Corson Funeral Home of Waverly, Iowa is assisting the LuAnn Kaiser family with arrangements.
