O.R. and Alzina Robbins was born in Wayne county, Michigan, October 26, 1853 and died at her home October 9, 1921 at the age of 67 years, 11 months and 13 days. She with her parents migrated to Iowa in 1855 locating on a farm adjoining Arlington then known as Mowtown. Her father was one of the pioneer United Brethren ministers of Fayette county devoting his time almost entirely to the church and marrying many of the people of those early days in this county. He with his wife did... Read More	Pioneer Lady Passes to Her Reward Lucena S. Robbins, daughter of Rev. O.R. and Alzina Robbins was born in Wayne county, Michigan, October 26, 1853 and died at her home October 9, 1921 at the age of 67 years, 11 months and 13 days. She with her parents migrated to Iowa in 1855 locating on a farm adjoining Arlington then known as Mowtown. Her father was one of the pioneer United Brethren ministers of Fayette county devoting his time almost entirely to the church and marrying many of the people of those early days in this county. He with his wife did a great deal of good among the pioneers of the county and were well known and greatly admired. She was married January 11, 1871, to James R. Crawford, a civil war veteran. To this union were born ten children, 3 girls and 7 boys, one girl, Irene, dying in infancy and all the rest living near, were with their mother during her last illness. She was one of a family of eight children of which Lewis E. Robbins of Pawnee, Oklahoma is the only surviving member. She leaves besides her husband, nine children, Nina, Ross, James, Will, Marion, Harry, Jesse and Lucille of Arlington and Victor of Oelwein, Iowa, and seven grandchildren besides a host of friends. She was a loving and devoted wife and mother, never tiring in her care and devotion to her children. While not a member of any church, her life was spent in service--doing to others as she would others should do unto her. After much suffering she passed away very quietly and peacefully, going to sleep as calmly as a little child in its mother's arms. The remains were tenderly laid to rest in the Taylorsville cemetery.
