Wells, daughter of William and Alice Wells, was born Feb. 18, 1885, at Humeston, Iowa, and passed from this life at the home of her son, Gene, July 31, 1960, at the age of 75 years, five months and 13 days. ABEL Lucetta F. Wells, daughter of William and Alice Wells, was born Feb. 18, 1885, at Humeston, Iowa, and passed from this life at the home of her son, Gene, July 31, 1960, at the age of 75 years, five months and 13 days. She was united in marriage to Roy Abel of Humeston, Nov. 20, 1901. To this union were born four children: Floy of New York, Gene of Chariton, Richard of Waukee, and Harold, who died in infancy. She has been a member of the New York Christian church since 1916. She spent her entire life in Wayne county except for the last six years after retiring from the farm. In 1949 they moved to Millerton where she spent the remainder of her life except for a few weeks during her illness. She was a charter member of the New York Garden Club, a member of the Rebekah Lodge of New York, and a member of the Ladies Aid of New York. She was preceded in death by her husband, son, her father and mother, two sisters, Pearl and Susie, and one brother, Jess. She leaves to mourn her passing one daughter, two sons, one son-in-law, two daughters-in-law, seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren, two sisters and one brother, Mable Wells of Oklahoma City and Iva Francisco of Humeston and Joe Wells of Ft. Morgan, Colo, besides nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.
