Description	:	Luciele J. Heiss passed away Monday December 7, 2020 at her Colonial Park home after a long and courageous battle with cancer. She was 74 years of age. Born on March 2, 1946 near Jefferson in southern York County she was a daughter of the late Earl Cornbower and Eva Smith Cornbower Boyer who is still living. She was a graduate of Susquehannock High School and York Junior College. Upon her marriage to Richard Heiss in 1967 she moved to Harrisburg. Heiss passed away Monday December 7, 2020 at her Colonial Park home after a long and courageous battle with cancer. She was 74 years of age. Born on March 2, 1946 near Jefferson in southern York County she was a daughter of the late Earl Cornbower and Eva Smith Cornbower Boyer who is still living. She was a graduate of Susquehannock High School and York Junior College. Upon her marriage to Richard Heiss in 1967 she moved to Harrisburg. She was an accomplished seamstress owning three “Luce’s Rip Joint” business locations in the Progress and Colonial Park areas east of Harrisburg. She also was a supervisor at Hess’s Department Store in the Harrisburg Mall and worked at Zimmerman’s Nut and Candy shop in Penbrook. She was a faithful member of Penbrook United Church of Christ since 1980 having served as Building Manager and was on the choir and the altar committee. In addition to her husband Richard and mother Eva, she is survived by her two sons, Michael A. and fiancée Jenny Page Cook of West Hanover Township and Anthony J. of Colonial Park and wife Elvia of Greensboro, North Carolina, her sister Doris Cornbower Bower and her husband Stuart of Nashville, York County, and five Grandchildren Rebecca, Anthony, Kelly, Mark and James. A Memorial Service will be held at Penbrook United Church of Christ on Tuesday, December 15 at 10AM. Short graveside services at the Jefferson Cemetery in Southern York County will follow at 1PM. Covid-19 mask and distancing requirements will be observed at both locations. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Memorial Fund of Penbrook Church or to Hospice of Central Pennsylvania which so lovingly cared for Lucy at the end of life.
