She was a victim of cancer. Mrs. Irish was born at McCallsburg, Ia., Feb. 10, 1921, to Frank H. and Louise (Rierson) Menzel. She was married to Duncan H. Irish Aug. 10, 1941 at Nevada. They were the previous owners of Nevada Monument Co. and also part owners in the family business, Nevada Poultry Co. Mr. Irish died Aug. 24, 1978. Read More	From Nevada Journal 1985 LUCILE IRISH Lucile Flora Menzel Irish, 64, of 1204 9th Street, Nevada, died Saturday, arch 30, 1985, at Story County Hospital after a lengthy illness. She was a victim of cancer. Mrs. Irish was born at McCallsburg, Ia., Feb. 10, 1921, to Frank H. and Louise (Rierson) Menzel. She was married to Duncan H. Irish Aug. 10, 1941 at Nevada. They were the previous owners of Nevada Monument Co. and also part owners in the family business, Nevada Poultry Co. Mr. Irish died Aug. 24, 1978. Survivors include her mother, Louise Menzel of Nevada; three children, Robert Irish of Minneapolis, Becky Jacobson of Nevada, and Bonny McVey of Austin, Tex., and seven grandchildren, Mark and Lisa Irish of Minneapolis, Scott, Chad and Chris Dankel of Nevada, and Douglas and Jennifer McVey of Austin, Tex. Mrs. Irish graduated from Milford High School in 1938 and attended State Teachers College (now UNI) in Cedar Falls for two years. She had most resently worked at Scudder's Dept. Store in Nevada. She had previously worked for the Ioewa State University College of Veterinary Medicine in Ames at Ambrose's Dept Store in Nevada. She was a member of Memorial Lutheran Church in Nevada, Soroptomists and Eastern Star. Funeral services will be at Memorial Lutheran Church Tuesday, April 2, 1985, at 11 a.m. with Pastor Forrest E. Chaffee officiating. Casket bearers will be Glover Ambrose, William Couser, Leonard Dueland, Harry Gandrup, LaNair Niblock, and Glenn Reedholm. Burial will be in Nevada Cemetery. Friends were invited to call at Chet Ryan Mortuary, 5th and G in Nevada, from 6 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, April 1.
